Welcome to Tamed Nature’s “WordPress site”.
“Tamed Nature” itself was created in 2009, the name was suggested by Simon my Fiance. Prior to being called Tamed Nature, we were ukrabbitsandcavies. The original UKRAC, as it was also known, started in our study, on the evening of 31st October 2005.
I was the proud Mummy of three guinea pigs and a rabbit. I searched high and low, and could not find a single forum that was dedicated to both of the species. I also didn’t manage at that point to find any guinea pig, or rabbit forums within the UK. (my search engine failed me miserably!)
As I had not found any specific forums for both of the species, I decided to take advantage of invisionfree’s free hosting, and create myself a forum for rabbits and cavies! So, ukrabbitsandcavies was born! We registered the domain, and found plenty of places to advertise our wonderful forum!
The forum grew from strength to strength. We had a large amount of members, and our knowledge base was immense, whatever question you could think of asking about a rabbit or a guinea pig, were all answered within our forum walls.
In 2008, there was a rift in the forum, and a lot of the members left to join in with another forum that one of our members had created on their own. We were hit badly that day, but we did still have a handful of regular and loyal and trusting members who stuck with us, through the rift.
We only have a small member base of a handful these days, but that will change, I do intend a heavy advertising campaign, to get our member numbers back up and have a thriving forum again.
However, the relationship within our current memberbase is like a close family, we all get on so incredibly well, none of us have actually met each other, but we are like family all the same. We look out for each other, and we’re always there should one of us need a shoulder to cry on.
We are not one of those forums that has a memberbase that do not welcome new members, we’re not “clicky” or anything like that, which a lot of people worry about, and find when they sign up at other well established forums.. We welcome every new member into the flock. 
We hold regular photo competitions, and we also hold regular competitions in other areas, usually with a prize for the winner. We also run a Secret Santa Event, a successful outcome to the recent Christmas Secret Santa, run by our wonderful member Rosie. We have held Secret Santa events at Christmas, and Easter for a couple of years now, and each one has been successful, and the participants have all thoroughly enjoyed it! We have even included our member in Australia!
